1991 saw the peak of the AIDS crisis in New York City. David Morgan's two closest friends died that year within in two days of each other. His partner of 15 years was very ill and would succumb the following summer. This image was not created for any event, nor any fundraiser at the time. It was just an inevitiable work for the artist at a very dark time. Following the tragedy of 9/11 the photographer donated a framed edition of 'Pieté' for a silent auction for the families of the firemen of NYC. He gave the the image a new title for that special event. 'FALLEN HERO' 'Piete', sold as and 8x10 print is recommended for mounting in a large matte within a 16x20 frame.
